Albums are defined by the Official Charts Company (OCC) as being a type of music release that features more than four tracks and lasts longer than 25 minutes; during the 1990s, sales of albums in the United Kingdom were compiled on behalf of the British music industry by The Chart Information Network until July 1997, after which they were compiled by the OCC. These sales figures would then be aggregated to form the UK Albums Chart, a weekly record chart based on physical album sales from Sunday to Saturday. Each week's number one was first revealed on ''The Radio 1 Chart Show''. The biggest-selling album of the 1990s was ''(What's the Story) Morning Glory?'' by the British band Oasis. Released in October 1995, the album was the second biggest-selling album of both 1995 and 1996. The biggest-selling compilation was ''The Immaculate Collection'' by American singer/songwriter Madonna. ==Albums==
